GW Sports Communications Adds Two Staff

WASHINGTON, DC - Jeremy Sharpe and Lars Thorn have been named to the position of Graduate Assistant for The George Washington University Sports Communications Office, Sports Information Director Brad Bower has announced.
Sharpe, a 1999 graduate of Susquehanna, comes to GW from Edelman Public Relations in Washington. He graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in communications.
Thorn, a 1999 graduate of the College of William & Mary, comes to GW from Ignition, Inc., an event marketing firm that, among other projects, organized the Olympic Torch Relay for Coca-Cola at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games. He also was the Assistant Athletic Director and varsity baseball coach at the Washington Waldorf School in Bethesda, MD.
Both Sharpe and Thorn will pursue master's degrees in sport management through GW's Graduate School of Business and Public Management.
In addition to assisting with all sports, Sharpe will be the primary contact for men's and women's cross country, gymnastics, men's and women's tennis and softball. Thorn will serve as the primary contact for women's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's squash and baseball.
George Washington sponsors 22 Division I varsity sports, 17 of which compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
