Joy Bauer Joins GW Athletics Academic Support

WASHINGTON, DC - Joy A. Bauer has been hired as an Academic Support Assistant in the Department of Athletics and Recreation at The George Washington University, Head Academic Coordinator Karen Ercole has announced. Bauer will work with student-athletes in the softball and men's and women's squash programs as well as working with freshmen student-athletes from all sports.
Bauer comes to GW after serving as an conference assistant sports information director at the Middle Atlantic Corporation last year. Prior to that, Bauer was the assistant coach for women's gymnastics at Temple University during the 2000-01 season.
A 1999 graduate of Penn State, Bauer worked in the Morgan Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes where she worked with the football program and freshmen student-athletes.
GW sponsors 22 Division I intercollegiate varsity sports, 17 of which compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
