Three Colonials Named To Spring Academic All-Conference Team

WASHINGTON, DC (June 19) - Two George Washington University golfers and a member of the GW women's varsity crew have been named to the Atlantic 10 Spring Academic All-Conference team, the league office has announced.

Juniors Thomas Blankvoort (Curacao, Netherlands Antilles) and Bryan Derdenger (Scottsdale, AZ) of the GW golf team and senior coxswain Deborah Friedman (Cheshire, CT) were selected to the All-Conference team in a vote by the league's Sports Information Directors.

The team consists of student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade-point average and is a starter or key reserve on his/her team.

Blankvoort posted a 3.50 GPA as an International Business major. Derdenger also maintained a 3.50 GPA in Business Administration while Friedman carried a 3.57 GPA as an Exercise Science major. Both Blankvoort and Friedman were named Most Valuable Players of their respective teams for the 1999-2000 season.
