With over 20 years of coaching experience, Finch joins the GW women’s basketball staff after most recently serving as the Associate Head Coach at Boston University for two seasons. Finch spent four years in total with the Terriers, working in her first two seasons as an Assistant Coach and the program’s Recruiting Coordinator before being elevated to the associate role. Under her guidance, the Terriers reached new heights, capturing the team’s first Patriot League Regular Season title in 2022-23, and helping lead the program to consecutive 20-win seasons in 2022-23 and 2023-24. Boston U also set a Patriot League record with 17 regular-season conference wins in 2022-23, winning those consecutively for the conference’s longest winning streak in league play as well.
Not only did Finch help garner team success with Boston U, but she also helped recruit and develop multiple players who collected individual accolades. This included mentoring Caitlin Weimer, the 2024 Patriot League Player of the Year, two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024, and two-time Patriot League First Team selection in 2023 and 2024. She also helped develop Alex Giannaros, who led all of Division I in three-point percentage in 2022-23, was a three-time Patriot League All-Conference selection, a member of the Patriot League All-Rookie team in 2022 and currently ranks sixth in program history in career scoring.
Prior to her time with Boston U, Finch spent a season in the Atlantic 10, serving as an Assistant Coach and Director of Player Development at Davidson. While with the Wildcats, Finch assisted with opponent scout preparation, film analysis, player development and recruiting. She was also active within the program off the court, directing the team’s “Cats’ Care: Social Awareness Initiatives Campaign,” which helped those affected by homelessness, food insecurity, domestic violence and breast cancer.
With over 18 years as a collegiate assistant at every level, Finch was named one of the Fifty Most Impactful Assistant Coaches by Silver Waves Media in 2024. She also served as Head Coach of the Lemvig Basketball Club, a professional team competing in the Dameligaen in Denmark, and as Head Coach at NCAA Division II New Mexico Highlands from 2014-16.
Finch graduated from Sonoma State University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. She earned her Master of Arts in Human Performance and Sport in 2018 from New Mexico Highlands.
