Senior Year 2020-2021
Cole spent the fall semester in Vermont with the Green Racing Project. Unfortunately, he failed to make a GRP boat attempting to qualify at Olympic trials. Cole returned to DC for the winter and spring seasons. Recognized on the Fall 2020 and spring 2021 GW Athletics Academics Dean's List. In the first race of the 2021 season, Cole raced Syracuse heavies, Jacksonville heavies, and Navy lights, sitting in the bow seat of GW’s second varsity eight. Losing to Syracuse by 3 seconds but besting Jacksonville and Navy lights. In the second race of the season, Cole raced Saint Joseph's and Drexel while sitting bow of GWs second varsity eight. The second varsity eight bested both crews that day. In the third race of the 2021 season, Cole raced Navy and Holy Cross, sitting bow of GWs second varsity eight, losing to the Navy but besting Holy Cross. In the last race of GW Men’s Rowing regular season, Cole raced in 2-seat of GWs second varsity eight that won the Dad Vail Regatta. Cole continued to race in the 2-seat of the second varsity eight at the IRA National Championship where the crew won the petite final, ranking their boat and the program seventh in the nation. This made both program and school history as the highest-ranked team at the university...Cole had the honor of being the team’s laundry boy for three consecutive years.
Junior Year 2019-2020
The second-year team elected Laundry boy, Cole raced the Naval academy and Drexel sitting bow of the second varsity eight in the only scrimmage during the fall of 2019. Under the new leadership of Eric Gehrke, Cole diligently practiced till the spring season was cut short due to Covid-19. Recognized on the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 GW Athletics Academics Dean's List.
Under 23 National Team Summer 2019
Cole was accepted to the Under 23 Green Racing Project coached by Steve Whelpley. Cole won at Mega Trials II in Mercer New Jersey in the BM2X. His doubles partner Mark Couwenhoven and Cole qualified to race at the 2019 Under 23 World Championships held in Sarasota, Florida. Representing the United States on the international stage the doubles placed 10th out of 53 competing countries.
Sophomore Year 2018-2019
Cole sat three-seat of the 3V8 that placed sixth (7:36.719) in the Petite Final at Eastern Sprints to qualify for IRAs … rowed two-seat of the 3V8 at IRAs, helping GW to a third-place finish (6:08.284) in the Third-Level Final to finish with a national ranking of 15th…Recognized on the Fall 2018 and spring 2019 GW Athletics Academics Dean's List. Cole took over team laundry duties from his predecessor Jack Schwirtz. He only died his teammates clothing pink once.
Freshman Year 2017-2018
Cole came in as one of the smaller and shorter freshmen. With no fall races Cole’s debut as a division I rower happened when he sat bow of the third varsity eight at the Harvard Cornell Spring Duel.... Harvard -- 6:14.3 2. Cornell -- 6:26.6 3. George Washington -- 6:31.9...The second race was the GW invitational where Cole sat bow of the third varsity eight besting Michigan by 14 seconds….Cole continued as the bow of the third varsity eight at the Dartmouth brown duel losing to both schools Brown - 5:38.10 Dartmouth - 5:39.96 George Washington - 5:53.34...in a remarkable turnaround Cole found himself sitting in two-seat of the men’s second varsity eight at the Navy, Columbia, and Hobart regatta on Lake Mercer....Making GW history the men’s 1V and 2V eights both swept their competition...At Eastern, Sprints Cole sat two-seat of the second varsity eight that placed 4th of 6 (5:54.706) Petite Final: 5th of 6 (6:19.263) Final Place: 11th. Recognized on the Fall 2017 and spring 2018 GW Athletics Academics Dean's List.

Born Cole Joseph Dorsey on 12/08/1998… graduated from The King School in May of 2017 …. The recipient of the Class Award of 2017 and the Michelson Memorial Award of 2017 … Graduated from George Washington University with a major in finance and a minor in statistics.
