AJ Register is in his second season with GW men's basketball, serving as the Director of Scouting and Analytics.
Prior to his appointment at GW, Register spent the 2018-19 season as part of Jamion Christian's staff at Siena. A graduate of the University of Alabama's Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration, Register owns a secondary degree from the University of Central Florida in Career and Technical Education.
"AJ's ability to understand how we can attack opponents and the different ways we can use our strengths is special," said Christian. "His positive mindset and his ability to use data helped our Siena team climb to the top of the league defensively in scoring and field goal percentage defense during conference play. He will be our video coordinator and will work directly with me on scouting and helping us find the edge against each opponent."
Prior to his stint at Siena, Register spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Montverde Academy where he helped lead the 2017-18 squad to a perfect 35-0 record and a high school national championship. In 2016-17, Montverde went 26-5 and finished runner-up at nationals.
Register began his stint at UCF as a graduate assistant for the 2014-15 season, before earning a promotion to Director of Operations/Video Coordinator in 2015-16.
While an undergraduate at Alabama, he worked as a student manager for the men's basketball program for three seasons.
