Coming off a 3-0 victory over Binghamton Sunday afternoon, GW men's soccer is back on the road on Friday night to face Navy. Kickoff at Glenn Warner Soccer Facility is set for 7 p.m. and the match will be carried on ESPN+.
GW's first week was led by Jaden Dubon, who collected five points on one goal and three assists in GW's first two matches. Five other Revolutionaries also tallied points early on, including Webb Kosich, Finn Roberts and Yago Torres with one goal apiece, and Miguel Sosa and Joe Brayson with one assist each.
Tom Macauley has manned the net for all 180 minutes of the young season. He's collected seven saves with a 1.50 GAA, and he pitched his seventh career shutout on Sunday. In front of Macauley, defender Jake Poole is the lone field player to play every minute to this point.
The Revolutionaries will take part in the Midshipmen's home opener on Friday, after Navy returns from a trip to the West Coast with an 0-1-1 record. Navy fell hard in its season opener at UC San Diego, losing 7-0, before rebounding with a 2-2 draw vs. San Diego State. Navy is led by first-year Head Coach John Hackworth, who came to Annapolis after serving as the director of coaching and technical director for Saint Louis SC in the MLS.
Navy was picked to finish ninth of 10 teams in the Patriot League's preseason poll. GW leads the all-time series vs. Navy, 14-13-5, which includes 1-0 wins vs. the Mids in each of the last two meetings.
