WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 released its swimming & diving weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon, naming GW's Ava Topolewski as the A-10 Women's Performer of the Week. It's Topolewski's fourth A-10 Performer of the Week award this season.
The award comes after Topolewski won both of her individual events at Penn State this past weekend. The senior distance swimmer from Grand Prairie, Texas, was pushed to the limit against the Nittany Lions, winning both the 500-yard free (4:50.77) and 1000-yard free (9:53.01) by under two seconds.
Topolewski also helped the Revolutionaries to a runner-up result in the 400-yard freestyle relay, anchoring the unit to finish in 3:26.43.
Topolewski currently holds the A-10's fastest times of the season in both events, finishing the 500-yard free in 4:44.89 at the Wolfpack Elite Invitational and completing the 1000-yard free in 9:47.43, a GW school record of which she set at Long Bridge Park in GW's dual vs. Navy.
Topolewski leads GW women's swimming & diving into the 2026 A-10 Championships, held Feb. 18-21 at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Va.
