Women’s Soccer Outlasts Howard, Weather for 1-0 Win

WASHINGTON – Following a 90-minute delay due to inclement weather in the first half, the George Washington women's soccer team secured a 1-0 win over Howard behind Kathleen Ngulefac's second goal of the season. The win moves GW to 2-1-2 on the season, while Howard drops to 2-3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 31st Minute: After slipping behind Howard's back line, Ngulefac received a perfect lead pass from teammate Kalia Kau. Ngulefac split the keeper's legs with a low shot, finding the back of the net for the second time in 2025. The Kentucky transfer now leads GW's offense with four points this season, while Kau's assist moves her into second on the team with three points.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Sophomore Kate Silverstein worked her second clean sheet of the season, shutting out Howard's offense, which took 19 shots on the day. She faced five shots on target, saving each and giving her 20 on the young season.
- GW took 15 shots, putting just two on target, including Ngulefac's goal. Isabelle Ohlmann led the offense with three shots on the day.
- Howard finished with a 5-3 edge in corner kicks. The Revolutionaries were whistled for seven fouls, compared to five for the Bison.
- Alex Caldwell (81st Minute) and Kate McGrath (82nd Minute) were each issued a yellow card in the match, their first of the season.
