
Women’s Soccer Draws 1-1 vs. Loyola Maryland

WASHINGTON - The GW women's soccer team fought Loyola Maryland to a 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon. After a scoreless first 45, the Greyhounds got on the board early in the second half, but the lead was given up when GW drew a penalty kick and converted with under 15 minutes remaining. GW finished the early-season non-conference games at 3-2-3, and begins A-10 play on Saturday night with a dual at George Mason.
HOW IT HAPPENED
49TH MINUTE: Taryn Buckley opened the scoring early in the second half, striding on her own from near midfield before firing a shot past the GW keeper.
77TH MINUTE: A GW attacker was taken down in the box, and the Greyhounds were called for a penalty, which was converted by Rose Vigran, beating the goalkeeper who guessed the wrong direction.
