
Women’s Soccer Opens 2025 Campaign at American, Drexel

WASHINGTON – The George Washington women's soccer team opens the 2025 campaign with two road matches this week. The Revolutionaries stay within the District for a matchup with American before heading north to Philly to face Drexel on Sunday. Both matches are slated to kick off at 1:00 p.m.
Jeremy Williams begins his second season at the helm of the program. The Revolutionaries welcome back 21 returners from last season's team, including Isabel Kelly, who led the team with eight points during her junior season. Williams' staff put together a group of seven newcomers, consisting of one transfer and six first-year additions. Kathleen Ngulefac joins GW out of the portal as a redshirt freshman after spending her first collegiate season with Kentucky. GW's full 2025 roster can be found here.

American returns to the pitch following a six-win season in 2024. The Eagles lost their top two scorers from a season ago but return Avery Klingensmith to the lineup, who posted five points during her junior season. GW has owned the all-time series, holding a commanding 14-5-4 lead. All three previous meetings have ended in a draw, with GW's last win over the Eagles coming during the 2019 season. It'll be the Revolutionaries' second trip to Vidas Field in program history, with both teams an even 2-2 against each other. GW picked up a 2-1 victory over the Dragons a season ago, aided by scores from Kelly and Alicia Window.
