Washington, D.C. – George Washington University Athletics is proud to announce a new five-year partnership with Serendipity, naming the iconic brand the Official Ice Cream of the GW Revolutionaries.
As part of the partnership, Serendipity will launch a custom, co-branded ice cream flavor—with a twist. The exciting cherry flavor will be named by the GW community through a contest inviting students, alumni, faculty, and fans to submit their most creative, DC-inspired names. The winning entry will be featured on packaging and sold both on and off campus.
In addition to sweetening the gameday experience, Serendipity has committed to giving back. A portion of the proceeds from the new flavor will directly support the Buff and Blue Fund, specifically benefitting mental health initiatives and health awareness programs for GW student-athletes.
"This partnership is about more than just great ice cream—it's about engaging our community and supporting the well-being of our student-athletes," said George Washington Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Michael Lipitz. "We're excited to team up with a fun, mission-driven brand like Serendipity to bring something new and meaningful to GW."
The yet-to-be-named product will be available for purchase at the Smith Center during the 2025-26 basketball season, around campus, and at retail.
"We're proud to launch our partnership with George Washington University, combining on-campus distribution with a deeper commitment to mental health through our support of the Rare Impact Fund,"Â said Bob Gorman, CEO of Serendipity Brands.
