WASHINGTON- GW lacrosse fell to the Richmond Spiders on Wednesday afternoon at home, 16-5, in its final mid-week matchup of the season.

Both teams got the offense rolling quickly, but Richmond cruised to an early 4-1 lead after the opening frame. The Spiders quickly added five more unanswered goals in the second to lead by eight at the break.
In the second half, the momentum stayed with the visitors. Richmond commanded the remaining 30, adding six more goals to claim the conference victory over the Buff & Blue, 16-5.
In the loss, Grace Curry, Kiki Rotay, Katie Fullowan and Mckenna Jacobs got on the board for the Revolutionaries. In the cage, Gabi Greth and Arden Bogle split the contest, combining for eight saves. On defense, Merrill Klein and Stella Ray each caused two turnovers. Ray also led GW in the draw circle, earning eight of the team's 12 draw controls.
The Buff & Blue now hit the road, heading to Philadelphia to face the La Salle Explorers in a Saturday matinee. Opening draw is scheduled for noon and will air live on ESPN+.
