Kingston, R.I. - After jumping out to a hot start against the Rhode Island Rams on Wednesday afternoon, the GW lacrosse team ultimately dropped the conference clash to the host Rams, 17-12.

In the opening frame, both teams enjoyed offensive success and saw the score tied at five apiece after 15 minutes of action. In the second, GW was outscored by the Rams 5-3, keeping the game within two at the break.

The third quarter was all Rhody with the hosts outscoring the Buff & Blue by three goals to claim a five goal advantage over GW. The Revolutionaries put up a fight in the final frame, finding the back of the net three times to match Rhody, but ultimately, the Rams earned their first A-10 victory in program history.

Katie Fullowan chipped in four goals to power the offense, while Grace Curry also earned a hat trick. Everly Kessler, Kiki Rotay and Caroline Sullivan got on the board as well for GW. Stella Ray led the Revolutionaries in both ground balls (three) and draw controls (five).

GW now returns to the Vern on Saturday to host George Mason in a DMV and A-10 clash. Opening draw is slated for noon, and will air on ESPN+. Fans are invited to Feel The Vern at a pregame tailgate starting at 11:30 a.m.
