Swimming & Diving Sweeps Last A-10 Weekly Awards of 2025

WASHINGTON – Following GW swimming & diving's final competition of 2025, the Revolutionaries have swept the A-10 Swimming & Diving weekly awards, as Ava Topolewski and Daniel Nagy were named the A-10 Performers of the Week, and Andres Brooks and Talya Erdogan have been named the conference's Rookies of the Week.
Topolewski earned her third A-10 Performer of the Week award already this season as she won all three of her individual events against William & Mary. The senior from Grand Prairie, Texas, swept her way through the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.16), the 500-yard freestyle (4:50.75), and the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:57.53). She was also a part of GW's second-place finishing 200-yard freestyle relay (1:34.06).
Nagy was named the conference's Performer of the Week following his standout meet vs. William & Mary, where he won two events and finished with two second-place results. Nagy claimed victory in the 100-yard butterfly (47.64), and he was a part of GW's 200-yard medley relay victory (1:27.47). The Budapest, Hungary native also finished in second place in the 100-yard freestyle (44.80), tapping in just .13 behind first place, and he was part of GW's second-place finishing 200-yard freestyle relay (1:21.95).
Brooks captured his third A-10 Rookie of the Week award as he continued his impressive debut campaign. The Austin, Texas product helped the GW men to victory over William & Mary over the weekend as he claimed one victory with two third-place results. Brooks' victory came in the 200-yard butterfly (1:47.56), while he tapped in third in both the 100-yard butterfly (48.60) and the 200-yard IM (1:51.01).
Erdogan claimed her first-ever A-10 weekly award after a pair of second-place finishes and one fifth-place result vs. William & Mary. Erdogan, who hails from Antalya, Türkiye, challenged Topolewski in GW's distance events, finishing second behind the veteran in both the 1,000-yard free (10:00.50) and the 500-yard free (4:55.80). Erdogan also finished the 200-yard fly in fifth place (2:07.64).
The Revolutionaries break until the new year, and return to action in mid-January with three meets to go before the 2026 A-10 Championships, beginning with a dual meet at Towson on Friday, Jan. 16.
