REGULAR SEASON RECAP
GW prepares for the MAWPC Championship after finishing the regular season at 14-15 overall, which included a 7-5 record in the MAWPC. The road that brought the Buff & Blue to the MAWPC Championships started in California, where GW knocked off then-No. 15 ranked Santa Clara in a gauntlet opening weekend which included matchups vs. the No. 2, 6, 12, 14 and 15th ranked teams in the nation. In all, GW went through 11 matchups against teams ranked in the top 20.
Leading the Revolutionaries at a historic pace has been senior utility Adonis Vlassis, who is approaching GW single-season records with 103 goals (5th in a single-season) and 149 points (4th in a single-season). A well-rounded cast has supported Vlassis offensively, led by sophomore attackers Yam Kabakov (47 goals, 34 assists) and Antonio Florena (57 goals, 19 assists), and first-year center Andrea Forno (59 goals, 9 assists). In net, Vasilije Marinkovic has received the bulk of the work, finishing the regular season with 255 saves and a .432 save percentage.
2-0 IN 2025 VS. THE MOUNT
GW will face off against Mount St. Mary's on Friday for the third time in 2025, after winning both meetings against The Mount in the regular season. The first matchup resulted in a 19-13 win on Sept. 28 as GW closed a three-game home stand at the Smith Center, in a matchup that saw Vlassis erupt with eight points (four goals, four assists) and Florena cash in four goals. The second meeting required an extra period to decide a winner as the teams were tied at 14 all at the end of regulation, but GW got the job done with a 3-1 edge in overtime to seal the regular-season sweep, 17-15. GW was again led offensively by Vlassis (five goals) and Florena (four goals).
