No. 19 (T) Water Polo Travels for MAWPC Road Rematches

WASHINGTON – A week after starting conference play at 3-0 in their home pools, the No. 19 (T) GW water polo team continues its MAWPC slate with a pair of road matches this weekend. First, the Revolutionaries will travel to Lewisburg, Pa., on Saturday to face RANK Bucknell, before heading to Erie, Pa., on Sunday to battle Mercyhurst. Saturday's game will be streamed on the Bucknell Athletics YouTube channel, and Sunday's game will be streamed on NEC Front Row.

MARINKOVIC, FORNO EARN MAWPC WEEKLY AWARDS
GW water polo graduate goalkeeper Vasilije Marinkovic and first-year center Andrea Forno were named the MAWPC Co-Defender of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the conference office announced on Tuesday. Both were key to the Revolutionaries' success on the opening weekend of MAWPC play.Â
PAIR OF REMATCHES
The Revolutionaries will face both Bucknell and Mercyhurst for the second time this season, after beating both teams in the DMV to open conference action last weekend. GW trailed Bucknell for most of its first matchup last Saturday, but the Revolutionaries used a 6-3 run in the fourth quarter to grab the lead and win over the Bison, 15-13. The Revolutionaries started strong against Mercyhurst last weekend, coming out firing with a 7-1 first quarter, and holding at least a five-goal lead for the remainder of the match on their way to securing an 18-10 win.Â
