WASHINGTON - A matinee affair in snowy DC saw the GW women's basketball team host Duquesne, and the meeting was all Dukes in a 97-55 win for the visitors.
Senior Maxine Engel was a bright spot for George Washington, with a season-high 18 points. Virtually everything else fell in the way of Duquesne.
A 30-9 first quarter edge for the team from Pittsburgh only swelled from there, as the Dukes were red hot, connecting at a .471 clip from the floor, including a scorching 19-of-42 (.452) from long range.
GW will try to right the ship Wednesday at Saint Louis in a 8 p.m. tip against the Billikens on ESPN+.
