WASHINGTON - The George Washington University men's soccer team (1-4-0, 0-0-0 A-10) fell to Rider (3-2-0, 0-0-0 MAAC) on Saturday, 4-0. The Revolutionaries drop to 1-2-0 at The Vern ahead of its trip to Annapolis, Md., on Tuesday to face Navy.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1ST MINUTE: Just seconds after the opening whistle, Bryan Akongo took advantage of a mishandled GW pass in the defensive half, leading to a quick opening goal for Rider. The goal came unassisted.

28TH MINUTE: Rider founds its second goal of the match off the foot of Momo Diop. Diop drove up the sideline and used a give-and-go pass with Theo Da Silva to get open in the box, where he beat GW goalkeeper Tom Macauley on a shot into the right side netting.

39TH MINUTE: Da Silva fired a shot from atop the 18-yard box, which was deflected by a GW defender but the deflection fell right to the feet of Diop, who had a wide-open net as Macauley was still recovering from the first shot attempt.

56TH MINUTE: Rider's Ezra Punselie added his name to the ledger with the only second half goal. His shot from just inside the box ended up in the far side netting. The goal came unassisted.

NOTABLE

GW notched four shots in each half, while Rider had seven in the first half and eight in the second half.
Macaulay made five saves on nine shots on goal.
Sean Vaghedi, Colin Prendergast, Louis Crofts and Santiago Labarca each recorded a shot on goal.
GW had five field players go the full 90 minutes: Vaghedi, Will Turner, Roee Tenne, Crofts and Carter Humm.
GW's Vaghedi was the only player to be cautioned in the match, a yellow card in the 79th minute.
