STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The George Washington men's soccer team (1-3-0, 0-0-0 A-10) lost on Tuesday night, 3-0, at Stony Brook (1-2-1, 0-0-0 CAA). The Revolutionaries fell behind 1-0 late in the first half and weren't able to recover, allowing the Seawolves to score twice in the second half and giving Stony Brook its first win of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
35th MINUTE: Trevor Harrison ended up in a 1v1 with a charging GW goalkeeper, Tom Macauley. Harrison got around the sliding Macauley, but was forced to deal with three GW defenders who had retreated back towards the net. Harrison got the shot off through two of the defenders, and shot it around the third who was standing on the goaline, to make it 1-0 Seawolves.
57th MINUTE: A GW penalty inside the box gave way to a Jonas Bickus' penalty kick. Bickus left no doubt, firing the PK into the left of the net as Macauley dove to the right side.
57th MINUTE: Not a minute after Stony Brook's PK conversion, Oliver Finlay received a pass from Bickus at the top of the box. Finlay took two touches before firing his shot into the lower left corner of the net for Stony Brook's third goal of the match.
