Second half goals from Prendergast and Nicholson seal first win of 2024 for Revolutionaries
WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's soccer team earned its first win of the 2024 season on Sunday, beating Saint Peter's 2-1 at the GW Soccer Field. The Revolutionaries fell behind in the first half after the Peacocks took the lead on a penalty kick, but GW stayed the course and leveled the match in the 63rd minute before taking the lead with the eventual game-winning goal in the 75th minute.
HOW IT HAPPENED
33rd Minute: A foul in the box led to a Saint Peter's penalty kick, which was converted by Conlan Paventi.
63rd Minute: Finn Roberts curled in a direct free kick, finding the head of Colin Prendergast, who tucked the ball in the side netting to level the match at 1-1.
75th Minute: Will Turner sent a leading pass just past Alex Nicholson, but the ball was mishandled as a Saint Peter's defender collided with his own goalkeeper, leaving Nicholson with an open net and the game-winning goal.

GW outshot Saint Peter's, 26-6, including a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Jaden Dubon, Nicholson and Turner paced the Revolutionaries with four shots apiece.
