DeAngelis, Topolewski Conclude Run at NCAA Championships

ATHENS, Ga. - GW women's swimmers Ava DeAngelis and Ava Topolewski concluded their stays at the NCAA Championships on Saturday as DeAngelis raced in the 200-yard breaststroke and Topolewski in the 1,650-yard freestyle.
DeAngelis was seeded 39th in the 200-yard breaststroke after swimming a program-record time (2:09.94) and finishing in second place at the A-10 Championships. On Saturday, DeAngelis finished in 45th place (2:11.73) in the 200-yard breaststroke in her second of two events at the NCAA Championships.
Topolewski was seeded 24th in the 1,650-yard freestyle after crushing her personal-best and the A-10 record (16:08.48) and winning gold at this year's conference championships. Topolewski was unable to match her personal-best but recorded her second-fastest time to finish in 39th (16:22.75). Topolewski was also scheduled to swim in a second event on Saturday, the 200-yard butterfly, but was scratched from the event.
