Topolewski Finishes 500-Yard Freestyle at NCAA Championships

ATHENS, Ga. - GW sophomore swimmer Ava Topolewski swam her first event at the NCAA Championships Thursday morning, finishing the 500-yard freestyle in 63rd place (4:48.72).

Topolewski swam in the first heat of the morning and finished in seventh place in the heat, beating out Arizona State's Alexa Reyna.

Topolewski returns for the 1,650-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly on Saturday, while Ava DeAngelis opens her stay at the NCAA Championships tomorrow in the 100-yard breaststroke and continues Saturday with the 200-yard breaststroke.
