
Bishop Crowned A-10 Player of the Week for Third Time

WASHINGTON - GW men's basketball's James Bishop IV was named the A-10 Player of the Week for the third time this season, the league announced on Monday.
Bishop posted a pair of phenomenal performances at Saint Joseph's and Saint Louis, averaging 33.0 ppg, 5.0 apg, 3.0 rpg and 1.5 spg while shooting an incredibly efficient 50% FG (21-42), 64.7% 3FG (11-17) and 81.3% FT (13-16). All came while Bishop played 79 of a possible 80 minutes in the two games.
The week started with Bishop's third 30-point game of the season at Saint Joseph's, scoring 32 points on 10-of-22 shooting, including a 4-of-6 showing from beyond the arc in addition to serving out four assists. On Saturday, Bishop created a new season-high with 34 points at Saint Louis on 11-of-20 shooting highlighted by making a career-high seven 3-pointers. The Baltimore native also dished out six assists, grabbed five rebounds and tallied three steals.
The 66-point week pushed Bishop over 2,000 points in his decorated GW career, becoming just the third player in program history to achieve the accomplishment. It also gave him 500 points for the third straight season, just one of seven players in the NCAA to do so.
