Handelsman, Thompson Recognized as 2024 50 Nxt Up

WASHINGTON - GW men's basketball Director of Operations Cooper Handelsman and Director of Player Development Aaron Thompson were named two of the top 50 support staffers in the country, it was announced by Silver Waves Media.
The recognition is for those considered to be "Next Up" to receive assistant coach promotions as polled by a committee of professionals in the industry.
Handelsman is in his second year with GW and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the program including, but not limited to, daily scheduling, travel arrangements, practice planning and representing the program as the team's liaison within the athletic department. He previously served as an assistant coach at Brown for three seasons prior to joining the Buff & Blue.
Thompson is in his first year as the program's Director of Player Development after a standout five-year career at Butler. In his role, he helps lead the program's data analysis for the purposes of program and player development, and contributes to the development of game strategy and planning practices.
