WASHINGTON - Despite outshooting Howard 25-17 on the day, the George Washington women's soccer team fell to the Bison in a 2-1 contest at the GW Soccer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 3RD Minute: First-year Kate McGrath got GW on the scoreboard early to give the Revolutionaries the quick advantage. Sophomore Aoi Kataoka set up McGrath for the score, tallying her fourth assist of the season.
- 3rd Minute: Despite GW holding the early momentum, Howard immediately answered back with a goal of their own in the third minute. Melea Earley recorded the goal, her fifth of the year, to even the score at one apiece.
- 86th Minute: Late in the contest, Earley tallied her second goal of the match to push Howard ahead for good. Earley's second goal was unassisted and proved to be the game-winner in the late stages of the contest for the Bison.
NOTEWORTHY
- The contest was halted by an hour-long lightning delay midway through the first half.
- GW outshot Howard 25-17 on the day and tallied a slight 7-6 edge in shots on goal.
- The Revolutionaries finished with a commanding 9-1 lead in corner kicks.
- Senior Margaret Rabbitt made her season-debut for GW after missing the first five matches of the season due to injury.
- Howard's Samone Knight received the match's lone yellow card in the 77th minute.
- Howard's Trinity Knox finished with six saves in net, while Rose Hemans notched four saves for GW.
