Men's Basketball to Compete in 2023 Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship

Buff & Blue to spend Thanksgiving in the Bahamas
WASHINGTON - The GW men's basketball team will participate in the 2023 Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship over Thanksgiving weekend, Friday, Nov. 24- Sunday, Nov. 26, at the Baha Mar Convention Center in Nassau, The Bahamas.
GW will play in three games in three days against a strong field of mid-major completion. This will mark the Buff & Blue's second trip to The Bahamas, joining the 2019 Islands of the Bahamas Showcase. The partial field currently includes Brown, Delaware, UIC, Kansas City, Middle Tennessee and Ohio in addition to GW.
The complete eight-team field for the 2023 event, along with tournament schedule, ticket information and streaming details will be announced later but fans can begin to make their reservation plans now.
HOTEL INFORMATION
A mere 55-minute flight from Florida, Baha Mar opened in 2017 and is home to three iconic brands: Grand Hyatt, SLS and Rosewood. "Baha Mar Hoops" is the largest regular-season event in college basketball. Last year, 20 men's and women's teams competed in 24 games over 10 days during the Thanksgiving holiday and 2023 could be even bigger.
The Nassau Championship (Nov. 24-26) includes eight mid-major NCAA Division I men's programs. The Bahamas Championship (Nov. 17 and 19) annually features four highly competitive men's teams from "Power" conferences. The Pink Flamingo Championship (Nov. 20 and 22) is a non-bracketed event featuring some of the top women's programs in the nation.
