Swimming and Diving Breaks Six Program Records, Flies Through LCM Time

PRINCETON, N.J. - The George Washington men's and women's swimming and diving teams finished the first day of the Princeton Big Al Invitational, breaking six GW program records and setting 14 personal-best times in the LCM Time Trials. The Revolutionaries will return to the short pool tomorrow at 10 a.m. for prelims and 6 p.m. for finals, all of which will be streamed on ESPN+.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Ava DeAngelis set a new GW program record in the 100 LCM breaststroke (1:11.11). DeAngelis held the previous record (1:11.18), which she set last February.

Ava Topolewski broke the GW program record in the 200 LCM butterfly (2:17.04) and finished third in the time trial.

First-year Riley Kudlac set a new GW program record in the 100 LCM freestyle (58.38) for the second time in her short career. Kudlac outpaced her previous record (58.59) set at Pitt. Also in the event, Taylor Bernosky broke her personal-best time (59.94).

Phoebe Wright broke the GW program record in the 200 LCM backstroke (2:14.14), beating her own previous record by .11 seconds (2:14.25). Wright finished first in the event, while Colleen MacWilliams smashed her previous personal best and finished third (2:19.87).

Three Revolutionaries took down the previous GW program record in the 50 LCM freestyle. The new record belongs to Chloe Hernandez (26.63), while Barbara Schaal (26.71) and Marlee Rickert (26.80) each swam personal bests, beating Schaal's previous record (26.82). First-year Katie Simpson also topped her prior personal-best time with a 27.07.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Daniel Nagy shaved off .16 seconds from the previous GW program record in the 100 LCM butterfly with a 52.66. Djurdje Matic, who was the previous record holder, tapped in just .01 seconds behind Nagy beating his old personal-best time by .15 seconds. The duo finished the time trail in first and second place out of 14 competitors.

Toni Dragoja paced GW in the 100 LCM freestyle (52.18), while first-year AJ Wood set a personal-best time in the event (52.71).

In the 200 LCM IM, Connor Rodgers cruised past his previous personal best and finished third fastest in the trail (2:04.88).
