Water Polo Handles Johns Hopkins, 16-8

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The George Washington men's water polo team took care of business against Johns Hopkins, 16-8, in today's consolation match at the MAWPC Championship. The Revolutionaries will return for the final match of the season tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. against Mount St. Mary's.
GW hopped out to an early lead and led wire-to-wire. The Revolutionaries led 9-5 at halftime and continued to pull away in the second half on their way to completing the 3-0 season sweep of the Blue Jays.
Viktor Jovanovic led all scorers with nine points, which came via five goals and four assists. Luca Castorina kept the Blue Jays quiet all afternoon, denying 12 Johns Hopkins' shots on goal.
