Men’s Soccer Heads to JMU

Kickoff set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday
WASHINGTON - GW men's soccer (4-3-2, 1-1 A-10) hits the road to Harrisonburg, VA., to face James Madison University (3-4-1, 0-1-1 Sun Belt) at Sentara Park for the first time since an exhibition in 2015. Kickoff on Wednesday is at 6 p.m. and the match will air live on ESPN+.
Last Week:
GW had mixed results in its pair of games last week. The week started with a 5-0 win over Howard University, GW's largest margin of victory since 2017. That was followed by a 4-0 loss at Loyola Chicago, in which GW's shutout streak came to an end after an impressive 223 minutes without conceding a goal.
Defense Leads to Offense:
Junior defender Aaron Kronenberg leads GW defenders with six points this season (3 goals, 0 assists). The Lindlar, Germany native has already passed his point total from last season, doing so in just over half the minutes played.
Scouting the Dukes:
JMU enters Wednesday's match at 3-4-1, with wins over Binghamton, NC State, and Georgetown. The Dukes are coming off a 0-0 tie against Old Dominion, in which JMU goalkeeper Sebastian Conlon stopped all 13 shots (four on goal). Conlon has played all but one game for JMU, allowing 1.14 goals per game with a .771 save percentage.
