GW’s shutout streak comes to an end
CHICAGO - GW men's soccer (4-3-2, 1-1) fell to Loyola Chicago (5-1-2, 1-1), 4-0, in the first meeting between the programs. Justin Grady made six saves and came up big in moments, but the Rambler attack was too much for GW to handle. GW moves to 0-2-1 on the road, while Loyola remains perfect at home, now 5-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
9th Minute: Loyola's leading scorer Billy Hency converted off a corner kick, heading the ball from the edge of the six-yard box. Marc Torrellas drove the ball in and was credited with the assist.
35th Minute: John Gates scored his second goal of the season off a rebound that got away from Grady. Grady made the initial save, pushing the shot by Julian Cisneros to the side, but Gates was in the right place to finish the play. Cisneros was credited with an assist on the play.
51st Minute: Fabian Bacerra scored Loyola's third goal after beating a pair of GW defenders off the dribble. The goal came unassisted and is Becerra's third of the season.
54th Minute: Alex Moskal scored the Ramblers' fourth goal, and his first of the season. The assist on the goal was from Cisneros, his second of the match.
