WASHINGTON - GW men's soccer (3-2-2, 1-0-0) breaks from conference play to welcome the Howard University Bison (1-4-0, 0-0-0) to the GW Soccer Field. Kickoff on Wednesday is scheduled for 1 p.m. on the Mount Vernon Campus, and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT: GW is coming off 1-0 victory against Davidson in its A-10 Conference opener.
Forward Oscar Haynes Brown scored the match's only goal in the 51st minute off a Tom Cooklin cross. Haynes Brown and Cooklin are tied for the team lead in points with seven.
Goalkeeper Justin Grady earned his 10th career shutout and the Buff and Blue's first clean sheet of the season.
PLAYMAKING ABILITIES: Tom Cooklin has assisted on three of GW's last four goals. The Lewes, England native needs two more assists to tie his career-high for a season (5 assists).
SCOUTING THE BISON: Howard is coming off its first win of the season, a 4-3 home victory over the Virginia Military Institute (VMI). The Bison's Bryson Baker scored a hat trick, and Nigel McCloud tacked on one more to lift Howard over VMI. Howard has been outscored 16-0 in all other contests this season.
