Men’s Soccer Opens Conference Play Hosting Davidson

Kickoff on the Vern is at 1 p.m. Saturday
WASHINGTON - GW men's soccer welcomes its first conference opponent of the season to the GW Soccer Field on Saturday afternoon as the Buff and Blue face off against the Davidson Wildcats. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT: GW came up short against Delaware, falling 2-0 to the Blue Hens this past Tuesday. The Colonials were held scoreless for the first time this season despite firing 12 shots. Justin Grady was back in net for the Buff and Blue, making four saves on six shots on goal.
BALANCED ATTACK: Despite being held scoreless against Delaware, GW still ranks fourth in the A-10 with 12 goals scored this season. The Colonials have been sharing the wealth on offense - four players are tied for the team lead in goals. Tom Cooklin, Oscar Haynes Brown, Elias Norris, and Aaron Kronenberg have each scored twice in GW's first six games.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS: Davidson enters Saturday's contest with a 1-4-1 record on the season, its lone win was a 3-0 shutout against Averett on September 9. In its other five contests, the Wildcats have been outscored 9-1 by opponents.
