WASHINGTON - GW men's soccer will host a pair of game this Labor Day Weekend, welcoming Columbia to the Mount Vernon campus on Friday at 1 p.m. before entertaining Mount St. Mary's on Monday at 1 p.m. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
ABOUT LAST WEEK: GW went 1-0-1 in its first two matches of the season, drawing with William & Mary (2-2) before topping Manhattan (4-2). The four points through two games are tied for the most since 2018 (also done last year). The Buff & Blue are looking to earn a point in three matches to begin the year for the first time since 2016, when they started 1-0-2.
HOT START: GW potted six goals in the first two matches of the season, second-most in the Atlantic 10 through the first week and tied for 10th nationally. Oscar Haynes Brown and Tom Cooklin have provided two goals each, accounting for two of the six A-10 student-athletes with multiple markers this year.
A WEEK OF FIRSTS: Elias Norris and Tim Neumann scored their first career goals on Sunday vs. Manhattan, doing so in their 29th career games. Neumann has provided three points in the first two games, adding an assist on Thursday vs. William & Mary. Norris equalled his point total from last year when he tallied two assists.

Now in their first season in the MAAC, the Mountaineers brought in 10 newcomers, five of whom are graduate transfers.
