Good afternoon and greetings from Foggy Bottom.

As our world continues to navigate another trying time in the face of this relentless pandemic, our Hall of Fame class has brought so much inspiration and joy to our student-athletes, coaches, administration and community as we have re-lived their careers and shared memories of their triumphs and accomplishments. I hope you have seen some of these memories as shared on GWsports.com and our social media channels. More are in the works.

Unfortunately, however, we are going to have to delay when we celebrate this class in person. On account of the record caseloads and hot spot that Washington, DC has become -- and with safety, both physical and emotional, top of mind -- it has been decided that it is not prudent to host an in-person induction on February 4th. There was limited talk of a virtual ceremony, but that was quickly ruled out as unbefitting of the celebration that this esteemed group deserves!

It is our hope that while we have not yet identified when during the 2022-23 academic year we will host our Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the wait will make it that much sweeter when we can be together (maskless and unrestricted) to honor this class with fans, friends and family out in force.Â
