Six different Colonials registered a shot in the effort
WASHINGTON - GW's offense continued to put up shots, but were unable to solve UMass' goalkeeper tandem, falling 2-0 against the Minutewomen.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• 2nd Minute: Ashley Lamond scored the opening goal for UMass when she was able to sneak behind the GW backline and put a rightfooted strike past goalkeeper Tamaki Machi.
• 78th Minute: The Minutewomen were able to extend their lead when a blocked shot by the GW defense fell right into the lap of Lauren Robles, who buried it in the back of the net.
NOTEWORTHY
• The Colonials extended their streak of having at least four players register a shot. The streak, which is now at eight straight games, began when four different Colonials put shots on the board against Maryland (9/2).
• Tamaki Machi made five saves for the Buff & Blue.
• UMass led the match in shots, 16-11, shots on goal, 7-4, and corner opportunities, 5-4.

• The Buff & Blue will start off the month of October by hitting the road for a weekend contest against Saint Louis. The match will take place on Sunday, October 3rd at 2 p.m.
