
Men’s Rowing Concludes Racing at Dad Vail Championship

GW’s first varsity eight boat finished second overall
PHILADELPHIA – The GW men's rowing team posted an impressive finish at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia on Saturday with all three of its boats earning top spots in their respective grand finales.
The Buff and Blue's first varsity eight boat finished second overall after coming in second in heat one to advance to the final race. Temple's 5:29.581 edged the Colonials' 5:30.677 to give the Owls first in the afternoon finale to take home the Championship trophy.
GW's second varsity eight boat won its grand finale to claim the Ernie Bayer Trophy. The Buff and Blue rowed a 5:51.255 to finish four seconds faster than any of its competitors. The 2V8 boat also placed first in its morning heat to earn its spot in the set of afternoon races.
GW's 3V8 placed third in a hard fought grand final, coming in at 6:12.572.
GW now sets its sights on IRA National Championships slated for May 28-29.
