
Coogan, Nohilly Break Steeplechase Record

Duo in position to qualify for NCAA East Preliminary
BALTIMORE - GW women's outdoor track & field seniors Margaret Coogan and Kathryn Nohilly saved their best times for last on Tuesday, putting themselves in position for NCAA qualification at the Charm City Last Chance.
Coogan and Nohilly both surpassed the previous school record in the 3000m Steeplechase that was set by Nohilly last month. Coogan now owns the top spot with a time of 10:19.67, shattering her previous career best by 16 seconds. Nohilly bested her previous time by two seconds, finishing in second with a time of 10:21.58.
Both times should qualify the duo for the NCAA East Preliminary later this month. Coogan currently ranks 40th and Nohilly comes in 42nd with the top 48 advancing to Jacksonville.
Additionally, Catherine Ruffino bested her previous time in the 5000m by 23 seconds, finishing in a winning time of 18:04.85.
On the men's side, James Glockenmeier and Kevin Conlon had PRs in the 5000m, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. Additionally, Ryan Fowkes finished his strong debut campaign with a second-place finish in the 1500m.
Women's 3000m Steeplechase
