GW will host VCU on Sunday for its regular season finale
DAVIDSON, N.C. – The GW lacrosse team fell at Davidson on Friday night, 20-13.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The two teams traded goals for the early stages of the first half until GW was able to stretch its lead to two after a pair of goals from Bailey Aaron and Ioanna Mantzouratos to take a 6-4 lead. The Wildcats outscored GW 8-2 in the remaining minutes of the first half and held the 12-8 advantage at the break.
After a Wildcat score to open up the second half, Alana Greene found the back of the net for the Buff and Blue off an assist from Kendall Lambert. Then Davidson rattled off five in a row to stretch its lead to 18-9. Despite a four-goal offensive push from GW in the final ten minutes of play, Davidson would score two more times, putting the contest out of reach.

- GW's eight goals in the first half was just one shy of the average that Davidson allows as a team in a full 60-minute contest. The Buff and Blue's 13 goal total is the most that the Wildcats have allowed since March 3 vs. High Point.
- Sophia Watkinson led the team in scoring with a season-high four goals.
- The Buff and Blue took 23 shots, putting 16 on net.
