Bailey Aaron led GW in scoring for the second-consecutive game
WASHINGTON – The GW lacrosse team lost to Davidson on Sunday morning, 18-7.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Davidson scored in its first possession of the game off a strike by Sam Rippley. Kendall Lambert responded four minutes later, tying the game at one.
The Wildcats rattled off four-in-a-row before Bailey Aaron was able to put a stop to the run by netting her first goal of the game. Lambert scored again for GW, but Davidson still led 5-3.
The visitors went on to score three unanswered, extending their lead to as many as five in the first. In the final minutes of the half GW and Davidson traded goals, and at the break Davidson led 10-5.
Davidson outscored GW in the second half, 8-2. The Buff and Blue's two goals came from Aaron, but GW could not find its offensive rhythm. The Wildcats never let GW again get within five goals and finished the game with the 18-7 victory.
