Lacrosse Comes Up Short at VCU

Amber Germer led GW with two goals
RICHMOND, Va. – Despite a valiant six-goal second-half effort, the GW lacrosse team had its comeback bid at VCU come up just short on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Rams, 11-7.
HOW IT HAPPENED
VCU jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first 15 minutes of the contest. Kendall Lambert scored GW's only goal in the first half, while the Rams went on to net three more and headed into the break with the 7-1 advantage.
GW rattled off three straight in the opening 10 minutes of the second half, cutting VCU's lead to three. The Rams responded with a goal of their own, but the Buff and Blue were quickly on the attack again, tallying three more from Amber Germer, Katelyn Walker and Catie Perkins to pull within 8-7.
The Rams found separation in the final seven minutes of action, adding three more goals to set the final margin.
