WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?: Noel Brown notched 10 points at Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday for his first career double-digit performance. Brown blew past his previous career-high of 21 minutes played with 32 minutes against the Titans. He also set new highs in made field goals (4) and attempts (6).
A reserve his entire freshman season, Brown has started all four games for GW and has nearly matched his season point (22) and rebound (24) totals from a year ago with 15 each this season.
A NEW THREAT EMERGES: As if it wasn't enough that Ricky Lindo Jr. was the only player in the Atlantic 10 to average a double-double last season, the senior has developed a knack from deep this season with a 7-of-12 (58.3%) showing from beyond the arc. Lindo Jr. has hit multiple threes twice and has nearly matched his previous career output of nine made triples in his first three seasons (26.4%).
CONNECT FOUR: Joe Bamisile, Brendan Adams, Ricky Lindo Jr. and James Bishop have shouldered the load for GW this season in nearly all statistical categories. The quartet has accounted for 84% of the team's scoring, 80% of the attempted shots, 93% of attempted 3-pointers and 83% of attempted free throws through the season's first four contests.
The four are combining for 53.2 points per game, and all averaging at least 11.0 ppg this year. GW has had four double-digit scorers in each of the last three seasons, something they will hope to match throughout the 2021-22 campaign.
A LOOK AT THE RIVER HAWKS: UMass Lowell is 3-1 following a dominant 77-53 victory over Central Connecticut State in the consolation game of the Hall of Fame Showcase in Uncasville, Conn. on Wednesday. The River Hawks already own a victory over A-10 member Dayton, pulling out a 59-58 victory at UD Arena last Saturday. UML is coming off a run to the America East Championship game a year ago, falling to Hartford in the title game.
Justin Faison, a Prince George's County native, is the top scorer for the River Hawks, pouring in 12.3 points per game through the season's first four contests. He had a season-high 21 points in the victory over Dayton.
