Ty Moore scores eight during Sunday's contest
MINNEAPOLIS- George Washington women's basketball was unable to make shots fall on Sunday afternoon in Minnesota, falling to the Golden Gophers, 48-32.
The Buff & Blue were unable to make the most of their offensive opportunities, shooting a season-low 19 percent from the field, including just 1-of-11 from downtown.
Ty Moore led the way for the Colonials on Sunday with eight points, while Aurea Gingras, Sheslanie Laureano, Taylor Webster all had six on the afternoon. For Minnesota, Deja Winters led all scorers with 17.
While GW's offense struggled to get going, the defense was stellar against a Minnesota attack that had come into Sunday's contest averaging 76 points in their first two games.
GW will return to action on Thursday night when it heads to Norfolk, Va., to face off with Old Dominion. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m.
