GW men's water polo returns to action this weekend, kicking off the second half of its Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference schedule with a pair of league contests. The Buff and Blue are set to visit Navy on Saturday afternoon before making the trip to Mount St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon.
(Note that the contest vs. the Midshipmen was postponed on Friday evening due to flooding in the area.)
LAST TIME OUT:Â GW had a break from competition last weekend after getting to the midpoint of MAWPC play at 4-2. Most recently, the Buff and Blue dropped a 14-10 decision to Bucknell at Smith Center Pool on Oct. 16.
CAREER YEAR:Â Nick Schroeder has set a career high with 27 goals through 17 games in his senior season to rank second on the squad. The Orinda, Calif., native has made an impact on both ends this fall, also totaling 13 assists, 10 steals and nine field blocks thus far.
Schroeder's previous career high was 26 scores during his rookie campaign in 2018 on the program's run to the MAWPC title and the NCAA quarterfinals. He enters play Friday with 83 goals and 146 points for his career.
