Women's Soccer Set For Pair of Conference Clashes

The Colonials will travel to Dayton Thursday and host Saint Joseph's on Sunday
WASHINGTON - GW women's soccer continues the second half of their conference slate with a pair of games this week, starting with a road contest at Dayton on Thursday at 7 p.m. before returning to The Vern to host Saint Joseph's at 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: The Buff & Blue's offense put up a valiant effort but was unable to find the back of the net against La Salle, falling 1-0 on Sunday.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS: Dayton enters Thursday's game at 7-5-2 and 4-2-0 in A-10 play. They're currently tied for second in the conference standings with Richmond and Saint Louis. Their most recent match was a 3-1 defeat at the hands of VCU. Prior to that loss the Flyers had won four of their first five conference matches. Dayton's leading scorer is sophomore Itala Gemelli, who currently has 14 points on the year. Additionally, Gemelli averages 1.29 points per game, good enough for third in the A-10.
OUTLOOK ON THE HAWKS: Saint Joseph's is 3-9-2 on the season, but holds a 3-3-0 record in the conference. The Hawks' offense is led by junior Ashley Orendac and sophomore Rachel Brown, who both have six points this season. Meanwhile, sophomore Katie Cappelletti has put on a masterclass in goal for the Hawks, starting 14 matches and leading the conference with five clean sheets this year.
