Indoor Track Heads to VMI Winter Relays

Colonials hope to build off of strong record-breaking performances
WASHINGTON – GW indoor track looks to have another strong showing at this weekend's VMI Winter Relays in Lexington, Va., hosted by the Virginia Military Institute. Events begin Friday and continue into Saturday. This is the first of back-to-back competitions for the Colonials at VMI.
The Buff & Blue delivered more record-breaking performances in their last performance at the Patriot Games two weeks ago. Senior Suzanne Dannheim (16:35.48) and graduate student Wesley Robinson (14:45.93) broke school records in the 5000m.
Juniors Kathryn Nohilly and Brittany Wilkinson surpassed the previous school record in the 1,000m. Nohilly finished third overall with a time of 2:54.97. Classmate Margaret Coogan also broke her personal record in the mile, breaking the five-minute mark for the first time in her career.
In total, GW has broken eight school records in the first two meets of the indoor season.
