Colonials fall short in 13/14 finals to Williams, 5-4
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The George Washington women's squash team ended College Squash Association (CSA) Team Nationals on Sunday afternoon, falling just short to Williams in the 13/14 finals, 5-4, to finish the 2019-20 season ranked 14th in the nation.
The Colonials improved their end-of-season ranking by one spot from last season.
For the second-straight match, the Buff and Blue secured victories at the top third of the ladder. Zoe Foo Yuk Han notched her 17th victory of the season with an 11-7, 11-5, 11-7 win at No. 1, while Engy Elmandouh topped Haley Jefferson at No. 2. Emma Tryon also bested her opponent at No. 3, 11-6, 9-11, 8-11, 11-9, 12-10.
Vedika Arunachalam gave GW its final victory of the day at No. 6 over Abigail LeBlanc, 11-9 11-9, 11-6. Arunachalam was also recognized as a CSA Scholar Athlete, which is given to juniors and seniors who achieve a 3.5+ cumulative GPA.
