Indoor Track Heads to Two Events This Weekend

GW looks to repeat last week’s strong performance
WASHINGTON – The Colonials look to continue their strong start to this indoor track and field season visiting a pair of locales, including the Virginia Military Institute for the second weekend in a row to compete in this weekend's VMI's Indoor Classic. Events begin Friday and continue into Saturday. In addition, a select group will head to the David Hemery Valentine Invite, hosted by Boston University.
GW earned six more wins this past weekend at the VMI Winter Classic. The Colonials continued to post record-breaking performances with first-year Miles Grant (6.92m) breaking a school record in the long jump and earning A-10 Rookie of the Week honors. Senior Suzanne Dannheim (4:52.79) continued her strong start to the season, breaking the school record in the mile.
Other winners from the weekend included junior Olivia Horgan in the 5000m (first appearance), junior Amena Benselloum in the 800m (first appearance), first-year Ryan Fowkes in the mile and graduate student Wesley Robinson in the 3000m (first appearance).
The Buff and Blue have broken 10 school records in their first three meets and look to continue their impressive run this weekend.
