Beyond the Bio: Ganiyat Adeduntan
10/13/2020 12:00:00 PM | Women's Basketball, My GW: Celebrating our Stories
Welcome back to Beyond the Bio, where we'll get to know more about the people behind the scenes at GW Athletics.
In this edition, we learn more about women's basketball assistant coach Ganiyat Adeduntan. Now in her fourth season in Foggy Bottom, Coach G plays a leading role in the development of the program's guards and wings while also serving as recruiting coordinator. In June, she participated in the prestigious TopConnect Virtual Seminar offering networking opportunities for the nation's top hoops assistants.
When I'm not working, my favorite thing to do is?
If I'm not at an All-You-Can-EAT brunch, it's getting a good workout in or relaxing on my couch.
If I was an animal, I would be?
Elephant- They are strong, intelligent, loyal and principled!
If I could only eat one meal for every meal for the rest of my life, it would be?
Chef G-Mo's take on shrimp fried rice (a recipe perfected over the years), with honey teriyaki-glazed salmon and brownie à la mode for dessert.
My favorite place I've ever been is?
Paris, France
If I could have coffee with anybody in the world, living or historical, he/she would be?
Ava DuVernay- Her writing, directing and producing are awe-inspiring.
The one job in GW Athletics I'd like to do for a day is?
I'd choose to be an Athletic Trainer for the day because of my nursing background and desire to want to help others.
The person I'm most inspired by is?
My Father- He taught and showed me what hard work looks like and to always pursue excellence in everything that I do.
My favorite book, movie, TV show or podcast is?
Book: Start with Why by Simon Sinek
Movie: Coming to America and Love & Basketball
TV Show: Grey's Anatomy
My top #OnlyAtGW moment was?
Pre-Covid- Being super annoyed by traffic on the way to work, then turning to my right, then left to take in my surroundings on Memorial Bridge (Potomac River, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, etc.). The view and our proximity just hasn't gotten old!
If I could be granted the gift of elite athleticism, I'd like to be able to?
Dunk like LeBron (ALL of the creative dunks, ALL of the aggression)
