
Men’s Squash to Host Dickinson for Senior Day

Colonials Travel to Drexel on Sunday
SERVING FIRST: The GW men's squash team is set to host No. 22 Dickinson at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts in the Lerner Health & Wellness Center for Senior Day on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Colonials will have a quick turnaround, hitting the road to face No. 5 Drexel on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
SENIOR SALUTE: Prior to the contest, GW will honor its three graduating seniors - Geordie Laird, Juan Sebastian Laguna and Jamie Oakley.
Laird has secured 15 wins during his career at GW. As a junior, Laird had his best season with a career-high nine wins. Currently, Laird has six victories, including wins against opponents from Yale, Navy and St. Lawrence.
Hailing from Bogota, Colombia, Laguna has amassed 37 career wins during his time at GW. In his first year, Laguna secured five wins at No. 4 and No. 5. As a sophomore, Laguna had a career-high year with 15 victories. This season, the economics major ranks tied for second on the squad with eight wins.
Oakley, from Tauranga, New Zealand, has notched 38 wins in the Buff and Blue, with all victories coming from the top third of the ladder. As a first-year at GW, he won seven matches, all at No. 1 position. He then went on to help the Colonials clinch their second straight Hoehn Cup (B-Division) championship as a junior. This season, the senior co-captain tops the team with 10 victories.
